TRAINING

Here at our Noosa Athletics Centre we offer different training squads throughout the year. These training squads include:  Juniors – 10-14yrs, Seniors – 15yrs & Over and High Performance – 15yrs+ (By Application). Training is held at the Girraween Sports complex, unless advised by our coaches. All coaches are fully qualified and registered with Athletics Australia or Australian Track & Field Coaches Association.

Fees: Cost per athlete is $30 per month for registered members and $40 for non-members. Training fees are payable at the beginning of each month. Cross Country and Middle Distance training fees are $5 per session, payable at each session attended.

LITTLE ATHLETICS NOOSA / NOOSA ATHLETICS SQUAD TRAINING

Our Squad Training is available to athletes in the U10 age group and up. Two training sessions are held each week.

  • October–March
    Monday and Wednesday, 4–6pm

Each training session lasts approximately 90-120 minutes depending on numbers. Squad numbers will be kept at a manageable level. When we believe that level has been reached, no new squad members will be permitted to join until there is a vacancy.

No new members can join the squad after Regional Championships. Athletes not progressing through to Little Athletics State Championships will be asked to have a break from training until the next training block commences in May or October.

SCHOOLS SQUAD TRAINING

Schools Squad Training is available to athletes aged 10 years and up. Two training sessions are held each week.

  • May–September
    Wednesday and Friday, 4–6pm

Each training session lasts approximately 90–120 minutes. Squad numbers will be kept at a manageable level. When we believe that level has been reached, no new squad members will be permitted to join until there is a vacancy.

CROSS COUNTRY / schools athletics TRAINING

Cross country training is available to athletes aged 10 years and up, who have made it to District level for Schools Cross Country. This training is also available to those not involved in other sports during the winter months, and who are wanting to stay active.

The one-hour program includes core strength, cardio and speed for middle to long distance runners. Training also includes track work; cross country runs in different locations (where possible); and hill work. 

Training fees are $5 per session, payable at each session attended.

April–July: Wednesday and Friday, 4–5pm

MIDDLE DISTANCE TRAINING

Middle distance training is available to all registered athletes U9–U17. The one-hour program includes core strength, cardio and speed training. Training fees are $5 per session, payable at each session attended.

October–March: Monday and Wednesday, 4–5pm

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Important: All athletes and their parent/guardian must read and sign the LAN Squad Training Terms-Conditions before commencing squad training. Please ensure you have provided phone and email contact details on the form.

FEES

Fees for Squad and Schools training are to be paid by the end of the first week of each month. Fees are to be paid one month at a time and are non-refundable. Cross Country fees are payable at each session attended.

  • Registered Little Athletics/Noosa Athletics members: $30 per month
  • Non-members fee: $40 per month
  • Cross Country, Schools Athletics and Middle Distance: $5 per session

Training fees: Paid direct to the coach for their preferred method
